Palembang: Palembang is super unique as one of the few nations that can become a pirate republic not only that, but new events at the beginning of the game ensure that you will have a strong leader. In addition to the easy vassals, colonization bonuses are also provided, making Brunei the easiest "Pacifist" run in Southeast Asia.ģ. Although they are OPMs, they also have the centers of trade in the Philippines node, giving high economic payback. 2 of Brunei's beginning missions simply require improving relations with Sulu & Maynila, giving them as vassals immediately. Brunei: Brunei is another nation that has missions with easy, high rewards that lead to completion of later missions. Simply fulfilling the mission's provided rewards allows an Ayutthaya player to snowball into having 4 massive vassals, and this, combined with the concentrate development option on vassals, a huge development capital.Ģ. All of its beginning missions are easily obtainable and offer great rewards, such as a subjugation CB on Khmer, Malacca, and Lan Na, as well as 50 government reform progress. First off, Ayutthaya doesn't begin the game in disaster, like Majapahit or Khmer, and requires no arbitrary preparations to prevent a disaster, such as Dai Viet. Ayutthaya: Ayutthaya by far is the best mission tree given, and provided with the best starting position due to the other major regional powers' trees. I'm interested in hearing others' opinions on this too and why they are what they are best.ġ. I wanted to make my input on the top 3 mission trees and the bottom 3 mission trees. These trees are either very good, or extremely bad. I'm not including, say, the Philippine or Sulawesi countries in this, as they have scant trees which would definitely rank low. Deal with it.With the release of Leviathan, the new mission trees seem very polarizing, at least to me. Not having a strategy for this reality feels suboptimal.īyzantium is the Roman Empire. There are a lot of players who are highly invested emotionally in the wellbeing of the game, who are ignorant of the realities of commercial software development and who have enough literacy to vent their feelings in the public. I'd understand if this was rejected on account of 'free labour is illegal' but it is a thought. there'd be some 'diplomats' who aren't paid by the company, do not have access to company insider information, who simply are there to translate the emotions and information of the player community into civilised rhetoric. If you do go ahead with this, I really do mean 'diplomats' from both sides - i.e. That was the historic way (see EU4 itself) of solving the communications/culture barrier: send trusted individuals to mediate as not everyone has the skills to share information without harming relations. I do wonder if the community should elect 'diplomats' to translate ordinary feedback into diplomatic rhetoric. We have recruited a set of great individuals, with a huge passion for the game, to form Paradox Tinto, giving us a bright future for Europa Universalis. This is of course a rough first expansion for the team and the studio, but it's far from the end. The 1.31.3 patch is planned to be out this week, and the next patch after that we aim to release either at the end of may or early june, and then we aim to release several more patches for the rest of the year. Now we are accelerating these plans, and also making sure that the community will be getting them frequently. We had originally planned to fix all legacy bugs before we stop developing further expansions for EU4. We are partially changing our plans for the rest of the year. We should have announced a break in the development of EU4 after the Emperor release, until we had a team ready to start designing and working early in 2021. I should have delayed the start of the development of Leviathan until we had all the resources that were needed, and they had time to properly onboard on the project. Leviathan was one of the worst releases we have had, and follows a long trail of low quality releases starting back with Golden Century for EU4.Īs the Studio Manager and Game Director, at the end of the day, this is my responsibility, so I have to apologize for this.
